I went back to Tony Grove with my family. I didn't get much of a chance to play but I have been messing around with multiple long delays and such in guitar rig. lots of fun.

Spring Hollow 8/8/07

Tonight I went back to Spring Hollow, took my guitar to try it and the tone port out outside. I went to Spring Hollow one night last week to record the creek, so I wanted to try playing the guitar, and recording the creek at the same time. I did some thing wrong and only got the guitar but thats ok. I just mixed in some creek sounds from last week in with the guitar on the latest audio sample. I just played some improvisation. I would have worked on structuring it some more but I didn't have much time again. I've got to work on making more time for this stuff, it's a blast.

Tony Grove 07_28_07 Current mood: happy On Staurday I went up to a place called Tony Grove in Logan Canyon, hiked in a few miles, and played around in a few different spots below Mt. Naomi. There were alot of people on the trail so I went as far as needed to get away from everyone. It was fun to get out an hike a ways this time. At the second spot I went to I played with sound for about an hour and a big rain drop fell on my key pad, so I packed up my stuff and by the time I was done it started to hail on me. It's good I packed up when I did! The rest of the time it was rainy, so I hiked down. I was sort of bumed because I wanted to see how long my battery would last, but there will be other chances to find that out. I have one regret in the comuter I got and that is the screen is glossy and can be hard to veiw with the settings low for power consumption reasons. It was fun to try this again though. Whit

The first try Current mood: cheerful Well I went out to try this wilderness recording idea yesterday. I went up Logan Canyon in the evening for a few hours to see how setting every thing would work. I got my midi keyboard in the mail yesterday, I have a 61 key just like it so it didn't take much getting used to. I played around testing out my cheap laptops abuilities, it kind of lacks in a few areas but should work as a good sketch workstation. I went to a place called Spring Hollow where an artisian well springs up out of the floor of the canyon. So I sat by the spring playing with sound for the evening. It was realy fun.

The Plan

Well I have my computer and my guitar, I have ordered my midi key board, and since my guitar port device seems to be broken I have ordered the newer Tone port. I probably wont get all of my things together for the wilderness recording studio for a few more weeks but before summer is out I hope to be on a few excursions to try this out and work out all of the bugs of doing this.
